In Hindi cinema, there is a history of actors starting out as singers. With the release of Kuch Khatta Ho Jaaye this Friday, Punjabi superstar singer Guru Randhawa made his acting debut in a Hindi film. However, despite his performance, he was unable to join the exclusive group of singer-actors that also includes Kishore Kumar. The name Ayushmann Khurrana appears. This movie is a bitter experience because of his performance, the shoddy writing, and the bad direction.
Story
The movie’s plot revolves around an extremely wealthy and successful family. The Chawla family in Agra has a family-owned confectionery. This provides the family with their income. The Chawla family has a grandfather who wants to visit the child of his grandson. Heer Chawla, his grandson, is the one he approaches for a marriage. Heer’s two uncles have different career goals for their nephew: one wants him to be a collector, and the other wants him to wrestle.
Heer, though, stays at 0 in each of them. She has feelings for Ira Mishra. He does whatever that Ira requests for her benefit. Ira’s dream job would be to join the IAS. The narrative has a turn of events. In other words, Ira’s younger sister desires to wed, but the family of her lover believes the older daughter ought to do it first. Ira tells her friend Heer the story to get past this obstacle. Heer offers, “Marry me, and I won’t stop you from becoming an IAS.” This also occurs, however the plot becomes confusing at this point and is not resolved until the very end.
Acting
The acting of Guru Randhawa lacks strength. Despite having a Punjabi touch and being a singer, his delivery of the dialogue is appalling. He’s cute, which makes girls like him. His fan base might dwindle following this movie as well. Sai Manjrekar has a nice appearance, but she can’t save this awful movie by herself. It is incomprehensible why Anupam Kher made this movie. Because the film’s writing was weak, none of the other actors had to do any extra work.
Direction
The film’s director, Ashok ji, is arguably its biggest antagonist. He was unable to include anything that viewers could get over in the movie. A more appropriate debut was required for a well-known singer such as Guru. A tiny toddler can already predict what will happen in the movie next.
Verdict
If you enjoy movies, I suggest you not to watch this. You’ll start to doubt performing and movies. After seeing this movie, Guru Randhawa is probably going to decide not to act ever again. If something goes wrong, even after you’ve seen your acting, catastrophe may also strike if you consider performing. Don’t watch this if you go to movies for the plot, the acting, the emotion, or the entertainment value. This is my experience thus far, but things could go south quickly.
