Drishyam 2 Full Movie Review – Star Performance
When you think of actors who have recreated the magic of Mohanlal from the original, there is no other perfect choice than Ajay Devgan. The much-discussed ability of both stars to work with their eyes makes them more alike than different. With his character’s mental state being on the helplessly innocent side for most of the film, we don’t see the deeper side that we saw in the prequel.
Some decisions of Shriya Saran’s character Nandini make her weak in both the story and the film. She doesn’t move across the board, but her character does. Akshay Khanna is not the Akshay Khanna I was expecting. Murali Gopi’s Thomas was more cunning and clever than Akshay. The trailer immediately reminded me of his performance in Ittefaq but that is not the case in the film.
Some decisions of Tabu’s character in the trailer are once again keeping her away from the audience compared to the prequel. Ishita Dutta’s Anju never fails to touch the impact of Ansiba’s Anju with its exploration of PTSD around the character. Mrinal Jadhav also does not add anything special to the story. Saurabh Shukla and Rajat Kapoor are good in their roles.

Drishyam 2 is a well-presented and written film, however, it lacks momentum at some places. As the story progresses, one’s attention may drift away from the film and one may not be able to concentrate on the events taking place. The pace of the film was a major drawback for me. However, when it comes to the script, story or production, Drishyam 2 is a sequel of the highest order that delivers everything we expected.
There was a part in the plot description for me where IG Ahlawat was seen sipping a cup of hot tea while visiting the Salgaocar residence as if he were someone from another planet. The logic was missing for me but I managed to find the scene in the script where Jenny addresses Meera Nandini as didi and Deshmukh intervenes, which was smart.
As much as the screenplay of Drishyam 2 deserves praise, especially the story and the climax, compared to Drishyam, the sequel delivers just what is required. But, when we talk about the late Nishikant Kamat’s Drishyam, Abhishek Pathak does a good job.

Drishyam 2 has a perfect storyline making it an overall entertaining film with interesting twists and turns. This has the ability to keep you on the edge of your seat.
