King of Kotha Movie Review – Star Performance
Dulquer Salmaan is a kaleidoscopic actor who showcases his talent in various subjects. He is as stylish and heartwarming as Raju, but his work doesn’t do the story justice. Shabbir makes a great start as Kallarakkal Kannan Bhai but ends up being a useless sidekick. Despite playing such an important role in Raju’s life, her character is never developed to register a deep relationship.
To smoothly deliver the non-linear story, Prasanna and Gokul Suresh are used as postmen, nothing more and nothing less. Aishwarya Lakshmi as Tara, Raju’s girlfriend, rarely gets a chance to be more than a girlfriend and when she gets it, she is given a send-off. Shammi Thilakan is impressive and serious in his small role as Kotha Ravi, Raju’s father.
Technical Aspects
Jacques Bejoy has worked in a few Telugu films and has given a wonderful background score for ‘King of Kotha’. The film is technically amazing and Ravi’s cinematography is amazing. Abhilash Joshi’s acting is also quite good.
But there is a lack of innovation in the story and screenplay which is the minus point of this film. There are not many turns in the film and the drama also did not work well. The pace of the film is also quite slow.
Direction, Music
Director Abhilash Joshi presents the same shades of noir as his father with excellent grading and promises to excel with a better script. It will be very interesting to see where they go from here. If they give some instructions like their Srimannarayana, many of us will shut up and take my money.
Jake Bejoy’s background score complements the quirky scenes and helps us enhance the experience of those scenes. The songs used throughout remind us of Vikram’s soundtrack, which gained recognition due to the captivating drama of the story.

Conclusion
King Of Kotha boasts of grandeur, with a star-studded cast and remarkable performances. However, to enjoy this film, you will need to invest three long hours and deliberately adjust to the pace. It may please Dulquer fans, but not the Telugu audience and the film will end up as a big bore this weekend.
