When Thalapathy Vijay comes on screen, his fans welcome him with their applause. The same thing happened in Leo also. There was a stir in the theatre when Vijay arrived. The Hindi show at 9:30 am was 80 percent full and the Tamil show was 100 percent full. This is stardom, but is stardom the only criterion for a good film? The answer is no, but it’s a must-watch movie The one whose first half is good, the second half tests your patience.
Leo Movie Review – Story
The story of the film begins in a small town in Himachal Pradesh where Parthiban lives with his wife Satya and two children. He owns a café and loves his family very much. Parthiban also saves the lives of animals in collaboration with the forest department.
One day, a hyena comes to the town and Parthiban risks his life to catch it. His pictures are published in newspapers across the country, seeing which South Indian gangster Harold Das remembers his nephew Leo Das, whose appearance is exactly like Parthiban.
Leo has been missing for many years after an accident. When his brother Anthony Das (Sanjay Dutt) reaches Himachal to meet him, he meets Parthiban. But Anthony denies his identity and investigates his family so that he can know the truth about Parthiban. Is Parthiban really a Leo? You have to go to the cinema hall to find out.

Leo Movie Review – Star performances
Vijay is a dashing actor who plays the lead role in Leo. Knowing their personality, Leo is all about them. Both his action and emotional aspects are superb which makes him a consistent success in his work.
Trisha Krishnan has played the character of Satya in the film ‘Leo’ who is powerful but also weak in terms of her family. She makes an impact with her presence even if she doesn’t have a big role.
Sanjay Dutt played the role of Leo’s father in the film and he also played the role of the villain. The makers have underutilized Sanjay’s talent, as I have mentioned earlier. Even after playing the role of a villain, I could not see the criminal power on screen. It is difficult to defeat a villain but that is what happened in Leo. Nevertheless, he demonstrated his abilities in action scenes.

Technical Aspects
Anirudh’s Purvajanam score is excellent in some parts. However, it cannot be considered so good in comparison with his best works like Master and Vikram. The songs also had no impact, due to lack of translation. Manoj Paramahamsa’s cinematography is superb. There is an action block in the flashback sequence and the camera movement here was fantastic.
The editing in the second half is good, while in the first hour, it is good. The VFX in the hyena scene was good. In the case of the car chasing sequence, the VFX work is below par as the entire sequence looks cartoonish.
Lokesh Kanagaraj has worked with Leo and he handled the first half well, but he could not maintain the same pace in the second half. This story has been seen many times, but how it is told is important. Lokesh has set the bar high with his films, but with Leo, he couldn’t completely live up to the expectations. Still, they offer a good product.
Finally
Leo’s movie is about Vijay, but there is no special story in it. If you are a fan of Vijay and action, then you can watch this. With Vijay’s swag, you won’t be able to stop yourself from cheering him. Lokesh Kanagaraj has directed it which is top-notch. Anirudh Ravichander has given attractive music in it.
