In today’s blog post we are going to Pippa Movie Review so let’s start
‘Pippa’ movie starring Ishaan Khatter-Mrunal Thakur in the lead role is now available on the Amazon Prime platform. Along with patriotism, the pain of life in a war zone, PT-75 tank, a family and refugees is also shown in this film. In this review, we will tell you how well the film has been able to live up to this storyline.
Pippa Movie Review – Storyline and Plot
This is the story of Pippa, India’s first tank, which could run on water. This tank had worsened the enemy’s condition in the India-Pakistan war of 1971. Naming this film after a tank is unique in itself. Ishaan Khattar, Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli are brothers and sisters. His father was in the army and was martyred for the country.
When Ishaan Khattar, i.e. Brigadier Balram Mehta, is ordered to test Pippa, he disobeys his officer’s orders and takes the tank into the depths and instead of sending her to the border, she is made to sit on a desk. The family rejects him. The elder brother goes to war. Sister knows coding so she also joins the army, but then Balram proves his ability.
The tank which has a seating capacity for three people has been converted into a seating capacity for four people. Seeing this, Army Chief Sam Manekshaw sends him to war. Then the war happens and we all know what happens, but the way this story has been told is brilliant.

Star Cast and Characters
The star cast of the movie “Pippa” includes:
- Ishaan Khatter as Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta
- Mrunal Thakur as Radha Mehta
- Priyanshu Painyuli as Major Ram Mehta
- Inaamulhaq as Shibli
Star Performance
Ishaan Khattar is an incredible actor. He has tried to assimilate Balram’s feelings, but he seems to lack the strength of a military officer. When he goes to see the refugees from Bangladesh, I don’t think that Balram is in pain or the audience is feeling that pain. Priyanshu Painyuli has aced his role well. He has played the role of a responsible army officer along with a strict elder brother with appropriate emotions.
Radha has not put any hard work on the character of Mrinal Thakur. There is no backstory to his character. The way he is shown cracking the secret code seems to have been done in a hurry. There is no sympathy for Soni Razdan in the role of a mother.
Chandrachud Rai and Anuj Singh Duhan have done a very good job in the roles of Chief (Captain Balram’s senior) and Speedy (Captain Balram’s companion). Kamal Sadana has also done well in the brief role of Sam Maneksha
Music and Soundtrack
Raja Krishna Menon has directed two films that I really like – Airlift and Chef. However, he has failed to leave his mark on these. Because the entire story revolves around a tank battle sequence, it becomes difficult for him to create a world different from the part he took from the book. As it combines two different stories for the brothers, that really won’t appeal to many people.
AR Rahman has written on Rampage and Parvana! MC Haim’s rap songs have been used in the action scenes, which gives a better experience to the audience. I find some of the BGM set pieces worthy of the Rahman tag, but most are pretty generic.

Final Verdict
Pippa is an honest effort that throws light on the Indo-Pak 1971 war, precisely the Battle of Garibpur. Three brothers and sisters fought bravely for the country, which is shown in this film. The battle scenes are very well designed. But the pace slows down in the last few minutes and the climax lacks the desired impact. The makers could have made it better by making the film a little shorter. Despite this, Pippa is a satisfying war drama.
